The Mill Departments

When the Mill workers discussed one another, they would sometimes use the department where they worked in the Mill as part of the description. For instance, this envelope was addressed to my grandmother, and she worked in Department 4074. They'd say, "You know...Della Russell, in 4074..." or 4X and so on.
